Free cut list optimizer & sheet nesting calculator

Type your parts and sheet sizes. CutYield draws the layout, numbers every cut for the saw, and lists the offcuts worth keeping. Works with DXF files for CNC too.

Features

  • Sheet layouts

Parts packed onto plywood, MDF or any panel stock, with the percentage of each sheet used. Aim for least waste, fewest sheets, fewest cuts or the biggest offcut.

  • Cut order for the panel saw

Rips and crosscuts numbered in the order you make them, with the fence setting for each. Blade kerf is taken out of every cut.

  • Offcuts

Leftovers big enough to use are listed with their size. Add any of them back to your stock for the next job.

  • DXF nesting

Import a DXF and pick the layers. Rectangles get a saw cut list; curved and angled parts are nested true-shape for CNC routers, lasers and plasma tables.

Questions

  • How is kerf handled?

Enter your blade or beam width, for example 1/8" or 3 mm. Every cut is spaced by that amount, so finished parts come out at the size you typed.

  • Can I nest a DXF file?

Yes. Import a DXF and choose which layers to bring in. All-rectangle files get a panel-saw cut list. Curves and angles are nested true-shape.

  • Inches or millimeters?

Either. Inches take fractions like 22 1/2 or 48-1/2, and you can switch units at any time.

  • Does it respect grain direction?

Yes. Set a grain direction on each part and sheet, tick Respect grain, and those parts will not be rotated across it.
